 Buckle Types

My fabric collars are constructed with an inner core of poly pro webbing.  I use 3 different thicknesses depending on breed of dog and questions answered on the order form to get the proper strength and thickness.

I use commercial sewing and embroidery machines and bonded threads to ensure strength in my seams which are reinforced at all stress bearing points.

Embroidered collars have the embroidery sewn through the fabric and nylon as I have found this is the best way to ensure that the embroidery cannot be pulled out of the collar.  Sharp nails however can still damage embroidery from time to time.

To clean the Cotton and Minky  fabric collars can be put them in a pillowcase, tied closed and tossed in the washer and then air dried or hand washed.  Jacquard Ribbon, Brocade fabric, Fabric collars with vinyl linings and Laminated Cottons fabrics should be handwashed in cold and air dried.

Vinyl collars and linings should just be wiped clean and never placed in the washing machine

Wear and tear on your collar will vary based on the dog and will be significantly reduced if you have more than one collar that you switch around on a regular basis. This is similar to having different clothing for yourself for different activities.  If we were to wear the same set of clothes every day for a few months they are going to start looking extremely worn and faded. If they were worn during activities suchs as swimming, exercise, hiking, going to the beach etc then they will look worse than if they were worn while laying around the house all day.  Where you live and the amount of UV exposure can also fade materials faster, as can the detergent you use and the amount of times you wash a collar. Using a phosphorus free detergent will help preserve the colors. Some fabrics are non commercial dyed on demand fabrics and can fade faster. You can contact me if you need specific instructions on your particular collar and how bets to care for it.

There are some materials that are more durable for different activities and if you have any questions about this please email me prior to placing your order.

COLLARS ARE NOT WARRANTED FOR EXCESSIVE PULLING, CHEWING OR SCRATCHING AND SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR TIE OUT COLLARS AS THIS CAN SNAP D RINGS AND BUCKLES.
