Cork fabric or cork leather as it is also know is an eco friendlly , sustainable material that is  is stain-resistant, water-resistant,  hypoallergenic, antimicrobial, lightweight, incredibly soft, and is also resistant to abrasion, fire, and water. This does not mean it is stain proof and some substances may discolor it. Water will however bead up on it and if you need to clean it a little dish soap and a handwash will work or you can put it in a tied pillowcase in the washer and then air dry flat.
